Please feel free to post any commentary about the draft here as well as using it to advertise any available picks or player you might wish to trade.

Yeah, I was back and forth with it only because he feels risky with his attitude/conditioning. I have a young enough team and am prob not quite competitive yet, so I can wait on him if he needs to mature.
With him turning 20 just a week ago, I'm hoping he continues to grow to a legit 7 footer. Whether he becomes lean like Oden or wide like Shaq, idk. At the end of the day, his youth and upside were enough that I didnt want to pass a potential franchise big. I'll end my Jay Bilas impression now, haha.

mattevans (or anyone else that wants to discuss), what are your thoughts on having Turner?

i think he could potentially be the best player in this draft in a few years, but i think he is going to take a while to develop into that type of player.
he will get his burn, and should put up decent stats this year.
He should be a first team All Rookie type of a guy, but i htink i will have to wait until next year for his true potential to start poking out.

Yeah, I know people are down on him because of a bad Summer League and because he has a similar skill set to Iggy, but I think PHI might end up being good place for him. Since Holiday isnt a true PG, Turner can facilitate the offense more, which works to his strengths more.

yeah i think he will get some time to show that he can run a team at the nba level. as far as having two guys with the same skill set as Iggy...... i dont see how that is a bad thing..... he is one of the most versitile people in the league..... im sure teams would like 5 versitile players on the court if possible...

I really had no clue on who to draft , i was wishing one of the top 5 picks would go down to 7th, but that didnt happen.
So i went out and reached for Ed davis, he is raw and doesnt have much of a face up game but i think will have an opportunity to grow and get minutes, could be a nice gamble 2 years down the track.

Davis should still get some solid mins this year. TOR threw a lot of money at Amir Johnson but that doesnt mean he's the solution by any means. As a Duke fan I was always worried about playing against Davis, but he never dominated games like I expected he would. He's prob either a good project for a couple years like you said, or one of those guys that finds a good fit and outperforms his college days.

Lawson might be a bit of a stretch at 1.8, but he's the most talented PG on my list and while he has Billups in front of him, he should get 15-20 mins again this year, and spell Billups during injury or "rest" games.
There was another PG who I won't name that I was considering here, and while his situation might potentially be better, his team's lack of confidence in him scared me away.
There were also a couple of rookies I really like talent wise, guys I think will have very good careers, but their situations frankly are too risky or downright bad to spend this pick on.
As a complete aside, I'm real excited about the amount activity and interest surrounding the draft from you guys this year. Keep it up!

Danger Dart Picks Al-Farouq Aminu (LAC) - He is not near a computer and asked me to make the pick for him (hope that is okay) This is totally fine. I'd much rather someone get a buddy to post their pick than wait 18 hours for the default L-Tax

theeed, how are you feeling about Sanders this season? If Bogut isnt at full strength for the beginning of the year, you thinking he'll get good burn, or are you thinking more long-term project for him? He had impressive averages in Summer League, although I didnt know anything about him coming out of VCU.
