Doesn't make much sense for Luxury Tax. It's a fair trade, but NJ's front court is so crowded that I think Luxury Tax could have kept his 1.13 and taken any one of the front court NJ men that have so much potential.

I confirm.
The way I see it, Brook only has Josh Boone in front of him in the depth charts, and I fully expect him to be starting over Boone by the All-Star break. Yi is going to get his time at PF, and Sean Williams will pick up whatever minutes Yi gives up due to fouls or fatigue. Despite the "crowded front court", Brook is really the only real center they have on their roster. Everyone else is a natural PF so that's where I see the problems... it's the exact same situation Joakim Noah stepped into in Chicago, and now he's the starting Center there,
And basically, I knew Brook would be gone in the next 2-3 picks... there was no way he was going to last to 13, and I'm not convinced that Boone (who I had last year) has much more room to grow. I like Boone's game on the court, but that doesn't always translate into fantasy gold.
Besides, my back-court and wing positions are stacked right now on my roster, and I had Lopez as the #2 rated big man after Love. At least on my charts. There was only one other player I would have drafted here, but much as it's never a good idea to draft for need in the NBA, that's exactly what I'm doing here.

Lopez was the player i would have drafted if I kept the pick... but with Oden, Amare and Hawes already, I didn't need another center. I agree with Luxury that Brook is the only real center on the roster and boone has no real potential to be more than what he was during his good stretch last year. The only real downside on Brook is that Lawrence Frank is typically hard on rookies... so it's a wait and see situation, but I can't see Williams or Boone keeping him down for long if at all.
